Talking To Angels

I believe in angels. Not just some untouchable force reserved for ancient art or Bible stories, but ethereal beings who are still very present in modern times – and in my life – all waiting and willing to help humankind.

I have long believed in and trusted there were angels in my midst, but I only began talking to them a few years ago. Yes, talking. I don’t recall what sparked my fascination, but I started reading books by angel experts who provided one example after another of people who saw miraculous things occur in their daily lives once they started asking their angels for help and guidance. Not just in stressful or critical situations, but with mundane daily tasks like getting a good parking spot or clearing a traffic jam. It makes sense to me; God seems a little busy for that tedious stuff, so why wouldn’t he hire (create) an army of angels to handle requests that can comfort us, scatter joy and further our faith?

I started mentioning angels early on in the life of my blog. And we started talking about them on my radio show (it continues to be one of our most popular show topics). Then, in March of 2007, an angel showed up at my doorstep. At the time, I didn’t really dive into the significance of it on my blog, but deep down I felt like it was the clearest message possible from the angels that they appreciated my trust in them and my spreading the word about their awesomeness.

Now, talking to the angels is a daily habit I don’t think twice about. I ask them for guidance when I’m creating art. I ask them for help in dealing with difficult situations. And, yes, I even ask them to help find me a good parking spot in crowded places (and I swear they deliver almost every time!!). They want to help you, too! So take a leap of faith, ask for help and watch what happens…because you are never alone.

Want more info? Here are a few angel experts I highly recommend:

~ Doreen Virtue is arguably the most well-known angel expert and included me in her book The Miracles of Archangel Michael
~ Sue Storm is “The Angel Lady” & author of Angel First Aid: Remedies for Life, Love, and Prosperity
~ Janis McKay Babcock is an “angel therapy practitioner” trained by Virtue. She’s the real deal!

Reading your blog post this morning was a good way to start not only my day but my week. I too believe in Angels and in the protection and guidance they offer. I have personally witnessed this, especially where Archangel Michael is concerned, but that is a story for another time.

My children are not 'little ones' anymore where they are always under a mother's protective supervision. Whenever I get this persistent and uncomfortable feeling that something is not right with them and I am not able to reach them, I send an angel their way. I have been told that angels can offer help as an extension of a mother's maternal protective instinct. Believe me, when they become teenagers, you will be glad you believe in angels!

Like you, I now converse with angels daily whenever I need help, guidance or protection. I was delighted when I discovered on your blog your work as a radio host, and I have listened more than once to the broadcast about angels that you have made available.

    Thanks for posting that link.

I'm off to spend a last day with my oldest son before he leaves for university (an ocean away!) and you can bet I will send angelic powers with him when he takes that flight, but first, I need some help of my own to make sure we don't forget anything. What is it with teenage boys and their casual wait-until-the-last-minute attitude to do any packing!

You're right! I love this post! So wonderful to connect to others who acknowledge their Angels. I don't know how or why but this aspect of your blog allude me, until now.

Truth be told I've talked to my Angels since I can remember. My earliest memory was when I was three. Since then I've been journeying into the hearts of my mentors (Angels) and cultivating my life to reflect their presence, in the sense of acceptance, soul expansion and most of all love. They have guided me through severe depression and touched me with tears of JOY! They've become just a much a part of my life as breathing in and out each day, as taking in the air keeps my lungs and heart pumping w/oxygen, taking in their messages and CHOOSING to engage their mentorship feeds my soul + spirit. (It's what I enjoy helping others to connect w/in their lives in my one-on-one sessions – that intuitive voice is so our Angels talking to us)
I've cultivated my relationship w/them just as I would a new friend and now we're seasoned sisters – so to speak. As part of my journey I've learned from doreen virtue, graduated Kimberly Marooney's programfacilitated Reiki With Angels™ sessions and now teach + support others to cultivate their relationship with their Soul Mentors – The Angels.
The Angels are my Muses and once open and willing to cultivate a partnership w/our invisible guides – life changes. It seems to initiate you into living w/your whole heart and discovering the essence of your soul, most of all encouraging you to bring your gifts (your heart) forward for all to share + see and in so doing you encourage others to do the same. It's the very stuff dreams are made up of and indeed the secret ingredients to living a creative life, the ingredients – acceptance of who we truly are, remembering who we are, living our authentic life in the every-day mundane world, giving ourselves permission to be who we are and choosing not to believe the lies that we are indeed anything but, well, worthy of celebration! Thank you so much for sharing this post w/me. love ~stephey
